After a crazy day with College Basketball, the NFL finds a way to get on the top of people’s minds! Tom Brady, after announcing his retirement on February 1st, says he is coming back for another season in the National Football League with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers according to ESPN, NBC Sports, etc.
When Adam Schefter announced Tom Brady’s retirement in late January, there was a lot of controversy since Brady had not made his decision on retirement. However, not even 1 week later, he announced his retirement. Since then, there have been so many rumors about him playing 1 more season in the NFL, either in 2022 or 2023 and possibly with a different team. This probably upsets 49ers fans who originally were excited to hear that if Brady comes back, it would be as a 49er. That obviously didn’t happen!
The Buccaneers were in a tricky situation if Brady didn’t return. They couldn’t have drafted a franchise QB (most likely) with the 27th overall pick. They also were probably not looking to role with Kyle Trask, their 64th overall pick in 2021. Now, a free agent option like Jamies Winston (again) or Andy Dalton could have been options. But, I think Tampa Bay is most comfortable with getting back their 15x Pro Bowler and 7x Super Bowl champion back! Just slightly!
