Week 2 NFL Power Rankings! Who’s #1? Where do teams like the Giants, Seahawks, Steelers go after big upsets?

Welcome to NFL Power Rankings. Every single week we will rank every team in order from 1-32. Week 2 is the hardest. Because how much do you take into account overall talent compared to what they did in Week 1? How do you determine a clear cut order? Well, there’s not! But this is what I came up with!

1. Buffalo Bills (1-0) – 31-10 over Rams (Thursday Night Football)

The Super Bowl favorite Buffalo Bills rank #1 on my NFL power rankings going into Week 2. A dominating performance on both sides of the ball, the Bills were able to destroy the defending Super Bowl champion Rams on opening night by an astounding 21 points. That success was due to Josh Allen’s four total touchdowns and 297 passing yards. 122 of those yards were to Stefon Diggs, who played stellar on arguably the best cornerback in football, Jalen Ramsey! One word to describe their win: domination!

Next week matchup: vs. Titans (Monday Night Football)

2. Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) – 44-21 over Cardinals

The Chiefs exploded in week 1 against an injured/slash suspended Cardinals. With both DeAndre Hopkins and J.J. Watt out, KC was able to take advantage on defense, holding the Cardinals to just seven points through the first three quarters. The most dominating part of this win though was Patrick Mahomes’ 5 touchdown passes, with 360 passing yards! Rookie Isiah Pachero also played well, rushing for 62 yards on twelve carries, a 5.2 average in his NFL debut.

Next week matchup: vs. Chargers (Thursday Night Football)

3. Los Angeles Chargers (1-0) – 24-19 over Raiders

The Chargers squeaked out a five point win over their division rival Raiders at home. Their ability on both sides of the ball was very intriguing and why they rank so high on these power rankings. Being able to have a quarterback that can throw you three touchdowns and a defense that can force the other team’s quarterback (a very good one I may add) to three interceptions is very impressive. Their talent is undeniable, and why they rank so high on this edition of the power rankings!

Next week matchup: @ Chiefs (Thursday Night Football)

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) – 19-3 over Cowboys

The Buccaneers defense run by head coach and former defensive coordinator Todd Bowles absolutely shut down Dallas’s offense! 19 points is usually not good enough to win a football game. The secondary shut CeeDee Lamb down to just two receptions on eleven targets, and shut down Dak Prescott for just 134 passing yards. If the offense can play just more consistent, there is no reason why this team can’t win a 2nd Super Bowl title in three seasons!

Next week matchup: @ Saints

5. Minnesota Vikings (1-0) – 23-7 over Packers

The Vikings surprised most people (but me) in beating their divisional rival Packers on opening day. What still shocked me though is how much they won by. 16 points! And that was due to two key components: their defense…and the fact that Justin Jefferson is about to have a masterclass of a season like I predicted. They held Green Bay to just seven points, as the Packers receiving game did absolutely nothing. And Justin Jefferson had 184 yards and two touchdowns on nine receptions. Goated!

Next week matchup: @ Eagles (Monday Night Football)

6. Baltimore Ravens (1-0) – 24-9 over Jets

The Baltimore Ravens won by two possessions over the Jets. They were inconsistent in the first quarter but played like a Super Bowl caliber team in the 2nd in 3rd quarters. Lamar Jackson threw some beautiful throws, including a 55 yard dart to Rashod Bateman for a touchdown. The defense, especially the secondary and defensive line, played stellar, forcing two turnovers and leading Baltimore to victory. However, they have a lot of work to do before being ready come postseason time!

Next week matchup: vs. Dolphins

7. Los Angeles Rams (0-1) – 10-31 loss to Bills

The first 0-1 team to appear on the list. The team that I mentioned was #1 on my pre season NFL power rankings is down to seven after a disgraceful performance against the Bills on opening night. Cooper Kupp played well for 128 yards and a touchdown, but Stafford threw three interceptions and the Bills two turnovers were not turned into successful drives. The defense couldn’t do anything in the 2nd half, and neither did the offense. But the defending champs still rank pretty high on my list!

Next week matchup: vs. Falcons

8. Miami Dolphins (1-0) – 20-7 over Patriots

The Dolphins defense was stellar on Sunday, leading them to a two possession win, The Dolphins defense forced three turnovers (two on Mac Jones and one of them being what I like to call a strip six) and sacked Jones three times. On offense, things still went well. Tua had a surprisingly very good performance from Tua, who was 23-33 for 270 passing yards a touchdown, an 104.4 rating. Even though the running game wasn’t amazing, there is a lot to be excited about in South Beach!

Next week matchup: @ Ravens

9. Las Vegas Raiders (0-1) – 24-19 loss to Chargers

Despite losing Week 1, Las Vegas hung around with one of the best teams in football, on their home turf! Davante Adams played amazing in his debut with the team, getting 10 receptions for 141 yards a touchdown. Derek Carr though played very below average, throwing three picks. Other first time Raider Chandler Jones really didn’t do much, even though he has potential to do so. The talent is there but a Week 1 loss does hurt their ranking.

Next week matchup: vs. Cardinals

10. Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) – 38-35 over Lions

This may seem low for the Eagles after a 38 point performance in Week 1. However, they had their fair share of weaknesses. First of all, allowing 35 points to a Jared Goff led, non Jameson Williams Lions offense is pathetic. And they also blew a game that could have been over in the 3rd quarter. But they also had a lot of positive outcomes come out of this game. Miles Sanders rushed for a touchdown (so did Jalen Hurts and Kenneth Gainwell) with 96 yards, while A.J. Brown had 155 yards in his Eagle debut!

Next week matchup: vs. Vikings (Monday Night Football)

11. Cincinnati Bengals (0-1)
12. New Orleans Saints (1-0)
13. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0)
14. Green Bay Packers (0-1)
15. Washington Commanders (1-0)
16. Indianapolis Colts (0-0-1)
17. San Francisco 49ers (0-1)
18. Seattle Seahawks (1-0)
19. New York Giants (1-0)
20. Cleveland Browns (1-0)
21. Denver Broncos (0-1)
22. Chicago Bears (1-0)
23. Tennessee Titans (0-1)
24. New England Patriots (0-1)
25. Arizona Cardinals (0-1)
26. Atlanta Falcons (0-1)
27. Dallas Cowboys (0-1)
28. Houston Texans (0-0-1)
29. Carolina Panthers (0-1)
30. Detroit Lions (0-1)
31. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1)
32. New York Jets (0-1)
