NFL Week 13 Power Rankings! Do Vikings jump Cowboys after win? Do Eagles jump Bills?

Welcome back to another edition of Chase’s Sports News weekly NFL Power Rankings. This week brought us some crazy things, including three fun/close thanksgiving games, and then brought us great football in the days forward, as the Bengals upset the Titans without Joe Mixon or Ja’Marr Chase, the Jaguars upset the Ravens on a game winning two point conversion with 14 seconds left, and Miles Sanders exploded for my fantasy team, in the Eagles quest to win the NFC! How does this affect the rankings? Let’s, get into this!

1. Kansas City Chiefs (9-2) – 26-10 over Rams | Even | Highest Ranking: 1 (Week 13)

The Kansas City Chiefs continued their dominance against a beat up defending Super Bowl champions, winning by a long two possessions. Despite one touchdown and one interception, Patrick Mahomes threw for over 320 yards, as he connected with Travis Kelce and Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a combined 113 yards and one touchdown. Isaiah Pachero is also getting it going on the ground, running for 69 yards, as the Chiefs have won their 5th straight game!

Next week matchup: @ Bengals

2. Philadelphia Eagles (10-1) – 40-33 over Packers | Even | Highest Ranking: 1 (Week 10)

There are teams in the NFL that have a bright future, with young talent and a plethora of draft picks, like the Jaguars and the Lions. However, the Eagles have young talent and a plethora of draft picks, and are arguably the best team in the NFL. Third year breakout quarterback Jalen Hurts is just 24 years old, and is in the MVP conversation. Miles Sanders is just 25 years old, and is top five in the NFL in rushing yards. A.J. Brown has been terrific and is only 25 years old, and they have a tight end of the future in Dallas Goedert who is just 27 years old. That also doesn’t including Devonta Smith and Darius Slay. The Eagles are not only scary now, but will be even more scary in the years to come, once this young core develops to an even higher level.

Next week matchup: vs. Titans

3. Miami Dolphins (8-3) – 30-15 over Texans | Down 1 | Highest Ranking: 1 (Week 4)

The Miami Dolphins secured a nice 15 point victory, despite leading 30-0 at a point in the game. Tua Tagovailoa’s 3+ TD streak did come to an end, but he still threw for 299 yards and a touchdown, 85 of those yards each going to Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. The defense forced turnovers, and basically took care of the game early on in the matchup. The Dolphins not only have the MVP and maybe the offensive player of the year, but they have a Super Bowl contender, for the first time in a little while!

Next week matchup: @ 49ers A

4. Dallas Cowboys (8-3) – 28-10 over Giants | Up 2 | Highest Ranking: 4 (Week 13)

The Dallas Cowboys continued their dominance on a yearly tradition on Thanksgiving, winning by a long one possession over their division rival. Despite a few Dak Prescott interceptions, he did throw for two touchdowns, both to Dalton Shultz and connected with CeeDee Lamb for 106 yards. Tony Pollard struggled, so Ezekiel Elliott stepped up, and showed why he’s still got it, running for 92 yards and a touchdown. It resulted in a Cowboys victory!

Next week matchup: vs. Colts

5. Minnesota Vikings (9-2) – 33-26 over Patriots | Up 3 | Highest Ranking: 3 (Week 11)

The Minnesota Vikings had a great response after a blowout loss to Dallas, by taking down New England 33-26. Despite Dalvin Cook struggles, Justin Jefferson shows us why he is the best the wide receiver in the league on a week-to-week basis, as he put up nine receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown. Not only did Jefferson break Randy Moss’s record for most receiving yards in the first three seasons of a career (with still six games to go I may add), he was named the NFC offensive player of November! JJETAS!!!
