The Washington Wizards will head to Brooklyn tonight to take on the Nets on both team’s 2nd game of a back to back. These teams usually have competitive games. The Nets only had a +3 point differential on Washington last season and had a 1-2 record. This season, the Nets are 2-1 against Washington and has a +14 point differential against them. However, their last 2 contests have came down to the last possession and both ended in a 1 point game. The Nets are also missing 3 of their best 4 players to injury/mental health. They are also missing Kyrie Irving because he is not allowed to play in Brooklyn due to his vaccination status. Considering these teams usually have close games, I expect this one to be another great one. But, my birthday is tomorrow a nice gift would be a Wizards win going into All Star break. Will that happen? Well, below is what I think will happen tonight!
My prediction: Wizards by around 5 points!
Fun Fact: According to Stat Muse, the Nets have a 72-68 record all time at home on Thursdays!
This game is a fun one! While it doesn’t involve your traditional stars that usually appear for these teams, there’s still a bunch of talent. In case you didn’t know, Kyle Kuzma’s 17, 9 and 3 is in this game and so is Seth Curry’s 15, 3 and 4! There is a lot of talent. I think Kyle Kuzma will make the difference in this game. Since January 1st, Kuzma is averaging 21.4 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He’s also shooting 35.9% from 3 in this stretch. To be more specific, he’s averaging 21.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 6.3 assists while shooting 37% from 3 since the trade deadline. Kuzma is one of the most fun players to watch with his touch, turnaround shot and his other qualities. The Wizards will win tonight’s game because of Kuzma’s abilities on the court!
Superman Sleeper: Daniel Gafford is my Superman Sleeper for tonight’s game. Gafford is coming back after missing significant time due to health and safety protocols. The Wizards are 45-41 since trading for Daniel Gafford. That is 4 games over 500. The games where Gafford has played, that record jumps up to 39-32, 7 games over 500. Gafford makes that much of an impact. The Nets allow 5.2 blocks per game, one of the most in the league. Well, Daniel Gafford has averaged 1.5 blocks per game this season. Sorry Brooklyn!
